Here the company finds inspiration from interesting railway subjects or the film archives of private collectors and amateur filmmakers. The library holds the archive collections of several well-known railway authors whose workday historical research not only included the armaments of pen and paper but also a cine camera.

Held in digital format, these fascinating collections have a story to tell. The last days of British steam, the last Welsh slate railways, engines and train journeys that are no more. More recent archive shows the building of Manchester’s pioneering Metrolink tram system and some of the oldest shows streamlined locomotives of the London Midland and Scottish Railway in action.

Whatever the gauge, 5inches to 5feet, the telling of the world story of “railways” will never end!
